DESCRIPTION

Sioux Falls Specialty Hospital seeks a full-time RN Supervisor to join its growing team in providing personal and innovative care in a patient-centered medical environment. The RN Supervisor is responsible to assist department management with workflow and staff supervision in accordance with the organization’s Mission, Values and Standards of Performance..

Qualifications:



  • Graduate of an accredited RN program.



  • Licensed in the State of South Dakota. BLS and ACLS certified.



  • 3-5 years of nursing experience preferred.


 


 


KEY RESPONSIBILITY AREAS:



  • Direct patient care.


 



  • Assists with department workflow and work schedules.

  • Ensures proper technique and practices are used according to accepted standards of practice.

  • Monitors EMR documentation.

  • Communicates departmental and staff issues and concerns with manager.

  • Communicates patient feedback to RNs.

  • Assists with enforcing proper handling of controlled substances.

  • Assists with new hires.

  • Assists with special projects and participates in assigned committees as directed.

  • Collaborates cooperatively with other departments to facilitate smooth transition of patients.


 



  • Supervise and coach direct reports.



  • Provides effective training, coaching and mentoring to ensure staff has the required competencies necessary to fulfill their roles.


 



  • Acts as a resource person for staff.



  • Monitors, evaluates and reports on services performance.

  • Troubleshoots performance issues/concerns.

  • Conducts performance reviews on direct reports.

  • Determines and monitors work schedules and approves payroll data as required. Monitors overtime and undertime.

  • Assists with facilitating staff meetings.
