The Accountant II position will assist the assigned division to budget, analyze, and monitor costs to achieve operational and financial objectives.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:


Cost Accountant Responsibilities (50%)
• Develop reporting of costs and cost variances to support division’s profitability analysis.
• Provide manufacturing support through analysis of costs and variances (labor, indirect labor, overhead, production, scrap).
• Perform general cost accounting such as raw materials cost, work-in-process, and finished goods inventories.
• Verify, compile, and classify material price information.
• Prepare entries into accounts and document business transactions.
• Participate in month-end close activities.
• Perform account reconciliations.
• Ensure compliance requirements are monitored and met.
• Verify, process, and analyze physical inventory counts and variances (cycle counting).
• May assist to establish, modify, document, or coordinate implementation of cost accounting and control procedures.


Financial Analyst Responsibilities (30%)



  • Provide support to the Director of Finance for each Division around the budgeting process leveraging the capabilities of the budget software. 

  • Provide assistance to the Director of Finance with the reporting of the forecasting process

  • Assist the Director of Finance in preparing monthly divisional reporting information

  • Maintain key performance indicators for assigned division

  • Prepare materials for Board of Directors presentations


General Accounting Responsibilities (20%)



  • Provide investor relations support to the Investor Relationship Manager including preparing participants for investor meetings, creating materials used in analyst or investor conferences and updating investor relationship website.

  • Prepare audit support and interact with independent auditors

  • Contributes to assigned team projects in an above average manner

REQUIREMENTS
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field.
• 5+ years experience in a related position, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Ability to work with confidential information and documentation with discretion.


KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES:
• Understanding of cost accounting procedures and theory.
• Understanding of accounting principles and GAAP.
• Proficiency with a computer, including Microsoft Office (specifically Excel). Ability to use query tools is preferred. Experience utilizing web-based applications is beneficial.
• Ability to be flexible and multitask.
• Ability to communicate effectively with team members and leadership staff
