The Head of Financial Reporting has a critical role in managing the planning and forecasting functions for Meta Financial Group (MFG) and its subsidiaries. Reporting to the Chief Accounting Officer (CAO), the position will also work closely with the CFO and Executive Management to report and communicate comprehensive earnings and analysis of MFG results. The incumbent must have the ability to analyze and understand complex business models and accurately assess resulting impacts.
The Financial Reporting role requires excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to influence both directly and indirectly for desired outcomes. This position also calls for key prioritization and time management skills in order to quickly assess the top priority in fast moving situations, act independently and keep senior management up to date at all times.
Responsibilities include leading MFG through the budgeting and forecasting process, SEC and regulatory reporting, management and communication of the corporate outlook ensuring execution against financial goals, and providing overall direction and coaching to finance team members.

Essential Job Functions:
Will be tasked with telling the MFG story by assessing large amounts of data and information and refining it in a clear and succinct way that will be delivered to a broader audience across the organization, as well as externally.
Provide timely, accurate and easily understood financial information to the Board of Directors (BOD), Executive Management, business heads, and other business partners.
Collaborate with lines of business and cost center managers to provide meaningful financial measures and benchmarks. Develop and manage monthly key KPI indicators and analytics process.
Develop and update monthly executive management and Board of Directors presentations.
Manage the FP&A, SEC and regulatory reporting systems, including the relationship with the MFG IT team.
Maintain current knowledge of best practices in the finance industry and proactively present to business leaders and team members.
Develop models and process methodology with strong controls that comply with internal and external audit requirements
Act as a technical expert on complex financial or analytical issues
Provide clear and concise variance analysis, including identifying trends, recommending solutions, and quantifying risks and opportunities.
Develop and maintain expense allocation methodology, implementation and reporting.
Provide ad-hoc analysis and support new product development, business cases, industry benchmarking, and acquisition opportunities.
Critical success factors will include the ability to develop partnerships with many businesses and functional areas, provide insight into the competitive environment and related market developments and identify trends which may present opportunities or reflect gaps in the approach to financial management.

Job Qualifications:

Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics or related field.
8+ years of financial services industry experience.
3+ years of management experience
MBA, CPA or CFA preferred.
Experience managing in a high-growth, fast-paced, matrixed work environment.
Experience with strategic financial management and business analysis having managed all financial reporting and functional requirements.
Excels at turning financial data into information that drives business improvement, including, working capital management, client profitability, vertical market trends, process improvements and cost reductions.
Demonstration advanced expertise in database applications and Microsoft applications (Excel and Power Point).
Strong attention to detail, works well in team environment, comfortable with taking initiative and proven self-starter.
Requires a high level of written and verbal communication skills and the ability to interact with different levels of management.
Ability to work on multiple projects while adhering to strict deadlines.
Strong understanding of GAAP, SEC, regulatory and financial industry accounting principles.
Demonstrated ability to formulate a strategic perspective.
Merger and acquisition experience.
Payments and/or fintech industry experience preferred.
