The Marketing & Communications Manager is responsible for creating and managing strategic initiatives and priorities for all marketing and communications channels, including digital and traditional marketing, and content creation and distribution. The ideal candidate balances long-term thinking and short-term execution and looks forward to the opportunity to create their own vision for this position.


Job Summary


To provide creative strategies and tactics in support of Journey Group Companies events, website, social media, electronic print material and other professional events. This position will be assigned special projects to help advance strategic goals and enhance quality standards.

REQUIREMENTS
Digital Marketing
• Research, recommend and manage social media platforms to promote the company’s vision and values, and strategic initiatives.
• Execute media campaigns to drive sales and promote recruitment from ideation to completion.
• Provide recommendations and plans for revising social media, content marketing, search engine optimization (Google, Bing, etc.) and advertising campaigns.
• Develop engaging content for exclusive use across social media platforms, such as feature stories, event stories, personality profiles, and interactive features.
• Respond to social media inquiries in a manner that reflects our culture and values.
• Monitor the company’s social media performance, create and monitor usage reports, review insights and analytics. Prepare summary reports and present to leadership.
• Utilize creative thinking and initiative to analyze platform performance and make recommendations for content generation.

Traditional Marketing
• Develop, design and edit in-house marketing and communications, including the newsletter, informational and educational pamphlets and brochures, special reports, and specialized promotional materials.
• Manage the design, creation and analytics of promotions on transitional sites and social ad campaigns.
• Write program descriptions, select photographs, edit content and layout, etc.
• Assist in collateral development and ensure that marketing materials are created and produced in accurate representation of company branding.
• Serve as departmental resource for copyright and permission issues and execution of style guide.
• Order and maintain supply of promotional materials.

Content Creation & Distribution
• Create content including, but not limited to, feature stories, event stories, personality profiles, testimonials and interactive features on deadline and in a timely fashion. Post content and stories to appropriate channels.
• Oversee layout, navigation, and overall appearance of the website; add and maintain multi-media features to website and ensure the site is accessible and inviting to diverse audiences.
• Maintain efforts in building brand reputation, monitoring and responding to online reviews as appropriate.

Strategy
• Determine best methods to disseminate content to meet specific organizational goals.
• Proactively seek out opportunities to learn about key news and feature opportunities.
• Identify key metrics and adapt strategies as needed. Compile reports for management showing results (ROI).
• Create strategies and priorities for applicable communications and outreach goals.
• Create announcements, invitations, PowerPoint presentation and other materials for company meetings and events.
• Manage media contact list.

Education and Experience
The ideal candidate demonstrate excellent leadership qualities that allow him/her to take ownership of a project from beginning to end. A bachelor’s degree in in marketing, communications, journalism, new media, or related field is required with a minimum of 3 – 5 years of progressive responsibility and experience working in marketing, communications, or media environment; or the equivalent of education and experience to meet the essential functions of the position. Digital marketing and social media experience required.
