Schedule: Monday-Friday, 2pm to 6pm during academic year
POSITION SUMMARY
Under the direction of the Lead Youth Development Professional, Assistant Youth Development Professionals provide safe, fun and educational afterschool programming for elementary students.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS STATEMENT(S)
PRIMARY DUTIES:
- Be actively engaged with students by providing homework help, reading and playing with youth, and helping with scheduled activities.
- Be a positive role model and mentor for youth.
- Prioritize student safety and report safety concerns to Lead Youth Development Professional.
- Ensure afterschool spaces are clean.
- Supervise elementary students in a safe and enriching environment.
- Assist with academic, recreational and social skills activities.
- Assist with preparing snacks.
- Track attendance and participation as requested.
- Recognize and value diversity within the work environment.
- Maintain high level of confidentiality with sensitive information.
- Complete required trainings.
POSITIONS QUALIFICATIONS
SKILLS & ABILITIES
Education & Experience: Must be at least 16 years old; if under age 18, must work under direct and constant supervision of Lead Youth Development Professional or Director.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
- Ability to stand, walk, sit, manually manipulate, reach outward and above shoulders, speak, climb, crawl, squat, kneel, and bend on a daily basis.
- Capability to lift, carry, push or pull up to 100lbs on a daily basis.
