The mission of the Cooperative Disability Investigations (CDI) Program is to investigate fraud in Social Secuirty Administration (SSA) disability programs. South Dakota's CDI Unit investigates individual disability beneficiaries and claiments, lawyers, doctors, translators, or other third parties who facilitate disability fraud. The results of these investigations are presented to Federal and State prosecutors for consideration of prosecution and to the State DDSs for their use in making timely and accurate disability determinations.

Licenses and Certifications:State of South Dakota Law Enforcement Certification or it's equivalent.

The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
Law Enforcement criminal investigations experience.

Knowledge of:
Advanced understanding of South Dakota criminal codes.

Skill to:
Investigate complex topics to include fraud and exploitation to include but not limited to the ability to conduct skillful interviews, interrogations and surveillance.

Ability to:
Operate computers and associated hardware and software; organize and understand financial records and associated legal documents; organize and prioritize tasks under pressure; write, plan, and execute operations involving the search and seizure of evidence and/or persons in their places of work or residences.

This position is exempt from the Civil Service Act.

This position is eligible for Veterans' Preference per ARSD 55:10:02:08.
