Dakota Traffic Services, LLC is a full-service traffic control, pavement marking, and signing company. We are looking for a Diesel Mechanic to join our team and work out of our Tea location with minimal travel required.
Diesel Mechanic is primarily responsible for performing routine and specialized mechanical duties, including troubleshooting, repairing, and preventive maintenance in all fleet vehicles/equipment. It requires keeping record of work performed and keeping a clean and safe work area.
Are you a Diesel Mechanic looking to make a change? Pay range is $30 - $40 an hour, with a monthly cell phone allowance of $75.
Key Responsibility:
- Perform vehicle diagnostics and troubleshoot various equipment.
- Maintain accurate fluid levels and tire pressures.
- Diagnose hydraulic issues, change, repair, and fabricate hoses.
- Install and repair electrical systems.
- Inspect and repair hydraulic and air-based braking systems.
- Welding, cutting and fabrication.
- Periodically drive to job sites for mobile repairs
- Ensure timely and efficient functions within the shop.
- Adhere to all safety policies and procedures.
- Other duties as assigned by management.
Requirements:
- High School education or equivalent.
- Valid Driver’s License Required, CDL Preferred but not required.
- Ability to obtain a Medical Examiner’s Certificate
- Must be able to pass a background/MVR and preemployment drug test.
- Ability to lift and move up to 60 lbs
- Experience using small hand tools (i.e., screwdrivers, pliers, wrenches, hammers, sockets, utility knife), power tools (i.e., drills, impact wrench), hand carts and pallet jacks, broom, scraper, shovel and forklift.
- Must be able to regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds.
- Must be able to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed written or oral instructions; to deal with problems involving a few variables in standardized situations.
- Must be able to stand and walk; to bend, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl; reach with arms and use hands and fingers; and push, pull, lift, or carry materials, equipment, and supplies.
