Feed Ingredient Procurement Specialist - Independence, IA
OBJECTIVE:
Pipestone Nutrition works with pig producers across the Midwest for swine nutrition expertise, ingredient procurement and mill management services. The individual we are seeking needs to be committed to providing high quality customer service, have exceptional communication skills, and be able to build relationships with the farmers we serve and the mills we work with. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS (other duties as assigned)
- Understand the basics of nutrition and feed ingredients.
- Process purchase orders for amino acids and Pipestone Nutrition feed ingredients.
- Work closely with Procurement Manager on amino acid contracts and orders.
- Communicate effectively with feed mills and suppliers for product orders, order confirmations and evaluate competitive pricing.
- Manage internal warehouse inventory.
- Handle customer issues and assist with invoice disputes.
- Understand invoice processes to assist team as needed.
- Possess excellent communication skills.
- Attention to detail and data integrity is imperative.
POSITION SPECIFICATIONS
Education:
Agriculture or administrative degree preferred
Experience:
Customer relations; livestock background and/or feed ingredients
Work Environment:
Office environment in Independence, IA or hybrid work within an 80 mile radius
