Housekeeper:

Aurora Plains Academy is an intensive residential treatment facility located in Plankinton, South Dakota. Aurora Plains Academy was established in January 2007. Treatment areas for the residents at the Academy may include mental illness, emotional problems, conduct problems, learning problems, chemical abuse problems, sexual abuse/offender issues, and peer and family problems.

Pay Range:

• $14.10-$16.60 hourly

Housekeeper Duties:

• Ensure a safe and secure environment.
• Clean all areas of the living units assigned by performing duties such as, but not limited to, the following items:
• Vacuum carpets
• Clean restrooms
• Wash windows
• Mop floors
• Perform snow removal as necessary.
• Clean first floors restrooms as assigned.
• Clean offices as assigned.
• Responsible for linen exchange and inventory.
• Perform laundry duties as assigned by the Maintenance Supervisor.
• Performs grounds keeping duties.
• Ability to effectively communicate.
• Ability to perform necessary cleaning duties.
• At all times represent Aurora Plains Academy in a positive and professional manner.
• Complies with all policies, rules, and regulations established by Aurora Plains Academy as a condition of employment.
• Trash removal.

Housekeeper Requirements:

• Must be at least 21 years of age upon hire.
• At a minimum, must have High School Diploma, GED, or HSED
• Pass a caregiver/criminal background check.
• Must have documentation to support that you are legally authorized to work in the US (I-9 to be filed upon hire)
• High School Diploma
• May not have a substantiated report of child abuse or neglect.
• Exceptional verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Must have excellent organizational and prioritization skills.
• Must be able to operate various equipment.
• Must be flexible and be willing to adjust to changes with little to no notice.  This includes schedule changes, job duty changes, weather permitting, etc.
• The ability to lift 50lbs independently, and 100lbs using team lifting techniques.
• The physical aspects require one to be able to work in a fast-paced environment, continuously stand on his or her feet for long periods of time, walking, bending, lifting, climbing, and twisting.
