DESCRIPTION

Costello Companies is looking for an energetic team player to join them as a Human Resources Manager.  This person will provide direction and leadership in all functional areas of Human Resources including staffing, safety, employee relations, compliance, benefits, compensation, and performance management.  The Human Resource Manager serves as a business partner and advisor to the leadership team to administer key HR strategies and programs. 


Key Responsibilities include:



  • Responsible for Employee Relations and Compliance, and acts as the principle expert in providing advice to employees and management on HR policies and practices.

  • Continually improve and manage annual performance management process including employee training and coaching, performance appraisal and personnel development planning.

  • Address and investigate employee relations issues, such as harassment allegations, work complaints, or other employee concerns, leveraging knowledge of employment laws and company policies and procedures.

  • Communicate with managers and employees regularly to establish rapport, gauge morale, and source new candidate leads.

  • Prepare and maintain employment personnel records related to events such as hiring, termination, leaves of absence, and job transfers; Interpret and explain human resource policies, procedures, laws, standards, or regulations to employees and managers as needed.

  • Coordinating safety program and administering worker’s compensation program

REQUIREMENTS
Qualifications:
• Must have a Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources or a related field required, Master’s degree preferred
• Minimum of 5 years HR experience
• Health and safety experience, highly desirable, working knowledge of worker’s compensation and safety required.
• Proven knowledge of all aspects of Human Resources
• PHR/SHRM-CP or SPHR/SHRM-SCP certification, highly desirable
• Strong customer service orientation
• Team player, who is results driven, able to work under pressure, has strong leadership skills, high energy, strong organizational skills, is empathetic and able to deal with issues in an open, honest manner
• Problem solving and decision making skills
• Excellent written and oral communication skill
