Job Description

Dakota State University is seeking applications for a talented Instructional Designer to contribute to the planning, development, delivery, and content review of courses offered to our dual credit students.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with faculty and subject matter experts to analyze, design, and develop high-quality instructional materials for dual credit courses.
  • Apply instructional design principles to create engaging and effective learning experiences that promote student success.
  • Utilize technology to enhance course content.
  • Conduct reviews of existing course content, ensuring it remains current, relevant, and aligned with program objectives.
  • Provide support to faculty in the integration of instructional technologies and innovative teaching strategies.
  • Develop and deliver faculty development training sessions focused on effective instructional design, technology integration, and pedagogical best practices.
  • Stay informed about emerging trends and best practices in instructional design and educational technology and share this knowledge with the faculty.

Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in instructional design, educational technology or a related field. A doctoral degree in those fields is a plus.
  • 2-5 years of experience in instructional design and course development; preferably higher education experience.
  • Knowledge of learning management systems (LMS) and other educational technologies.
  • Strong communication skills and service-oriented approach to individuals at all levels and across disciplines.
  • Excellent project management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
  • Experience providing training sessions.
