DESCRIPTION

General Accountability:


The Manufacturing Support Technician will use best practices to develop new and document existing manufacturing processes. The person will analyze current documents for effectiveness.  The person will maintain and manage revision-controlled procedures in electronic and hard-copy formats.  The person will form collaborative relationships with manufacturing support, quality assurance, and engineering team members; they may work in project teams with these members to achieve goals as required by the company. The Manufacturing Support Technician will use knowledge of Standard Operating Procedures, Standard Work Instructions, Job Aids, manufacturing practices, process capabilities, and problem solving skills to resolve issues, improve processes, and implement solutions that maintain and improve the flow of production.  Knowledge, skills, and abilities will be used to support solutions to improve Manitou’s presence in the industry. 


 


DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:



  • The candidate must be able to use effective communication skills to convey information in a manner that is easily understood. 

  • The ability to interface with all levels of the organization will be required. 

  • The candidate should be self-motivated and be able to work efficiently and effectively with others in a team setting and as an individual. 

  • As a team member the person should be able to take and provide direction as required. 

  • The candidate must have the ability to work on multiple projects, and exhibit strong judgment and ethical decision-making skills.

REQUIREMENTS
EDUCATION:

Associate’s degree in business, engineering or related field is preferred.


EXPERIENCE:

Minimum three years of technical writing experience or equivalent is required.


KNOWLEDGES:

Manufacturing experience is preferred with knowledge of industry best practices (Standard Operating Procedures, Standard Work Instructions, Job aids, Training-Within-Industry, etc.).
Candidate must have a working knowledge of document management and learning management software.
Solids modeling software experience is preferred.


LOCALIZATION AND TRAVEL EXPECTED:

This position is located in Madison, SD.
