JOB SUMMARY: The Principal Clinical Intelligence Analyst is a senior member of the Clinical Intelligence Team, providing thought leadership and significant personal and technical contribution to analysis and investigative projects.


The Principal Clinical Intelligence Analyst is an integral member of the Clinical Intelligence Team, which exists to provide strategic and tactical decision support to stakeholders at all levels of the organization. This individual can confidently operate at the most senior levels of the organization and support all levels of clinical and programmatic decision making.


They actively engage in preparing and maintaining data assets, working with multiple databases through the development of code and statistical models. They participate in research design, and collaborate on the development of proposals, presentations and reports.


They utilize their advanced knowledge of enterprise data warehousing, statistical and data mining methods and perform data preparation, processing and analysis. This will include reproducible research, statistical inference, regression models and basic machine learning. They will lead and mentor other analysts by delivering formal classroom training, participating in design and code reviews and offering guidance whenever it's sought.


The Principal Clinical Intelligence Analyst is an expert in the field of data sciences, responsible for leading work in analyzing, synthesizing and manipulating data to produce actionable clinical decision support assets.


This is a highly technical role with a strong clinical practice element, requiring analytical and problem solving skills and familiarity with research environments and experience generating papers or reports on research findings.


· A Bachelor's degree or equivalent in a nursing, healthcare, life science, mathematics, computing, informatics or engineering related discipline.

· Post graduate study such as a Master's degree or equivalent experience in a structured research or clinical environment

· Professional experience in dataset analysis and synthesis

· Experience using large data repositories or warehouses

· Experience developing operational dashboards, reports, performance indicators and instrumentation for decision support

· Possess an understanding of data mining and business intelligence concepts and practices

· Proficient in at least one or more scripting languages (Powershell, Perl, Bash, Python etc.)

· Experience of enterprise data analysis and mining tools (e.g. Cognos, MicroStrategy, Oracle Data Miner etc.)

· Professional public speaking experience


· This position requires a valid driver's license and that the employee is insurable by the Avera Health automobile liability insurance carrier.
