This is a Full-Time position with the Department of Agriculture and Natural Resources. For more information on the Department of Agriculture and Natural Resources, please visit https://danr.sd.gov/ .

This position assists with preparation of grounds and facilities for special events. This includes the setup and cleanup. Performs skilled building maintenance tasks in the areas of carpentry, mechanical, and preventive maintenance to provide for the continued, safe, and efficient operation of the facility and associated areas. Candidate must have good communication skills, complete tasks in a timely manner, and have the ability to lift 50 lbs. or more.

Tasks can require prolonged standing, bending, and working in cramped areas and on ladders. Incumbents are subject to muscle strain and exposure to inclement weather.

Licenses and Certifications:
  • CDL is preferred but not required.

The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
A high school diploma or GED with some skills and a minimum of 2 years of experience in general maintenance is preferred.

  • work extended days and hours before, during, and post State Fair; and
  • provide positive customer service and relations.

This position is eligible for Veterans' Preference per ARSD 55:10:02:08.
