The Team Leader, Production Underwriting (UW) Operational Readiness is responsible for procedures, documented processes and alert bulletins such as Medical UW Bulletin, Corporate UW Bulletin, Production UW Bulletin to ensure immediate notification of procedures or risk mitigation critical to the evaluation of UW risk and overall mortality impacts. Will manage, conduct, report, and maintain documentation of risk assurance program that oversees the effectiveness of the Production UW Unit. Prepares and/or maintains documentation pertaining to programming, systems operation and user documentation. Translates business specifications into user documentation. Generates ideas for process and technology improvements within and across underwriting. Prepares high level cost benefit analysis. Focuses on increased responsiveness, resolving issues and continuously raising the quality of work. Makes decisions utilizing data management tools and key metrics to ensure business alignment and commitment and growth objectives are met.

--College degree preferred
--At least five years of underwriting experience
--Ability to deal cross functional areas effectively
--Advanced knowledge of risk selection and mortality is essential
--LEAN or demonstrated experience with implementation of Standard Operating Procedures
--Broad understanding and or experience with industry best practices
--Fellowship in the Academy of Life Underwriters of LOMA and/or completion of CLU courses of study is helpful
--Strong communication and presentation skills both verbal and written
--Due to the financial nature and level of accountability of this position, a credit and criminal background check is required
