Job Description
Position Summary

This individual will administer a variety of computer, client-based testing programs at the Southeast Technical College (STC) Campus Testing Center. For questions regarding this position, please reach out to the hiring manager, Melissa Quittem, at 605-367-7677.

Essential Functions

  • Schedule, administer, and proctor tests in the STC Campus Testing Center
  • Proctor testing sessions and ensure that tests are administered according to client and STC testing specifications
  • Perform check in process with examinees, verify identification and provide clear instructions that guide the examinees in precisely following testing procedures
  • Monitor testing experience in a courteous and positive manner
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and secure testing environment
  • Maintain accurate and secure testing procedures and records
  • Efficiently manage materials, data, and procedures with minimal supervision
  • Assist with fixing technical issues using testing center protocol
  • Assist with updating prescribed changes to software and/or testing practices
  • Complete training as required by various client testing organizations
  • Communicate and relate effectively with diverse clientele
  • Provide individual testing accommodations for students with disabilities as needed
  • Respond to all inquiries concerning internal and external testing
  • Perform other duties as assigned


Position Qualifications

  • Education: High school diploma or GED required. Associates degree preferred
  • Experience: Minimum of one year of occupational experience required that demonstrates appropriately related skills to this position. Minimum of one year of customer service experience required. Familiarity with standardized testing formats and the college enrollment process preferred.
  • Other requirements:
  • Computer skills: proficient in Microsoft Office, Windows applications, internet, email, Learning Management System knowledge and computer systems knowledge

Physical Demands and Work Environment

Busy, walk-in, open office area. Constant interruptions and interactions with staff, students, and other individuals. General office environment with standard office equipment available. Lighting and temperature are adequate. Moderate noise level typical of an office environment with staff and student conversations and noise from office equipment. Job is sedentary with physical activities normally required in an office environment. Possible exposure to temperature changes as individuals enter and exit the building.
