EXPERIENCE DESIRED:Successful practicum experience .
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:This position requires constant repetitive motions with the wrists hand and fingers. Frequent hand-eye/mind-eye coordination, hearing, sitting, speaking, standing, talking, walking, keyboard and writing are also required.
OTHER REQUIREMENTS:Demonstrated competency with computers and the use of word processing, spreadsheets, and data entry. Demonstrated ability to build good interpersonal relationships and establish positive rapport with students, colleagues, administrators and parents. Excellent oral and written communication skills. Skill in human relations, leadership, and conflict management.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS & DUTIES- Develops and updates departmental procedures.
- Provides guidance and instructs other personnel in the department, including staff physical and occupational therapists.
- Works with the special services director and related services supervisor to evaluate the physical and occupational therapy staff.
- Assists with the recruitment and staffing necessary for implementing therapy services.
- Participates in the orientation of new staff members and provides assistance and guidance in district policies and procedures.
- Assists in the determination of treatment priorities, caseloads, schedules, and procedures for providing therapy services in the school district.
- Assists in the determination and allocation of therapy personnel and equipment throughout the school district.
- Monitors therapy services throughout the school district to assure that standards for quality services are maintained in the least restrictive environment.
- Assists in the establishment of safe areas to carry out a treatment program.
- Reviews requisitions for supplies and equipment prior to forwarding them to the building principal/related services supervisor.
- Assists in the coordination of in-service/continuing education opportunities for therapy staff.
- Assures compliance with procedures for evaluation and the development and implementation of the individual educational program and process.
- Insures participation in the Medicaid billing process.
- Participates in school and district committees as necessary.
- Maintains the confidentiality of students and their families.
- Performs other duties as assigned by supervisors.

PAY INFORMATIONStarting at $69,584.37 to $90,793.69 per year, based on experience
Pay information is based on the 2024-2025 Occupational Therapist Salary Schedule. 2025-2026 salary schedule coming soon!
Pay day on the last day of the month.
HOURS & FTEMonday through Friday, 7:30 am to 4:00 pm
1.0 FTE, 40 hours per week, 9 months
