3rd Grade Teacher

Job Summary: A 3rd grade Catholic school teacher is responsible for teaching a comprehensive curriculum in core subjects such as: math, reading, science, social studies and religion while actively cultivating Catholic values and teachings into the classroom environment , fostering spiritual development alongside academic learning for the whole child.

Academic Instruction

  • Develop and implement engaging lesson plans aligned with the Catholic school curriculum, covering all core subjects at a third-grade level.
  • Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse learning needs of students.
  • Assess student progress regularly through formal and informal assessments.
  • Provide targeted interventions and support for struggling students.
  • Catholic Formation:
  • Integrate Catholic teachings and values into daily lessons and classroom discussions.
  • Lead prayer and reflection activities in accordance with school practices.
  • Model Christian behavior and positive character traits.
  • Collaborate with school chaplain or religious education coordinator to reinforce faith development.
  • Classroom Management:
  • Create a positive and supportive learning environment that promotes student engagement and respect.
  • Establish clear expectations for student behavior and implement effective classroom management strategies.
  • Foster a sense of community within the classroom.
  • Communication and Collaboration:
  • Maintain open communication with parents through regular updates, conferences, and accessible channels.
  • Collaborate with other teachers, administrators, and support staff to ensure student success.
  • Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance teaching practices.

RequiredQualifications:

  • Valid teaching certificate
  • Bachelor's degree in education or related field
  • Strong understanding of Catholic doctrine and teachings
  • Experience working with elementary school students, preferably in a Catholic school setting
  • Commitment to the mission and values of the Catholic school
