Part-Time Accountant

Job Description

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Part-Time Accountant to join our team. This role will be responsible for a variety of accounting tasks, including bi-weekly payroll processing for approximately 40 employees.

Responsibilities:

  • Process bi-weekly payroll for approximately 40 employees.
  • Calculate and process federal, state, and local taxes.
  • Maintain accurate employee records, including time-off accruals and compensation changes.
  • Reconcile payroll reports and resolve any discrepancies.
  • Assist with year-end payroll tasks, such as W-2 and 1099 preparation.
  • Stay up-to-date on federal, state, and local payroll regulations.
  • Maintain confidentiality of employee information.
  • Perform general accounting tasks, such as accounts payable, accounts receivable, and bank reconciliations.
  • Assist with financial reporting and analysis.

Qualifications:

  • Strong understanding of accounting principles and practices.
  • Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Excel).
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Knowledge of federal, state, and local tax laws.
