Job Description
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Part-Time Accountant to join our team. This role will be responsible for a variety of accounting tasks, including bi-weekly payroll processing for approximately 40 employees.
Responsibilities:
- Process bi-weekly payroll for approximately 40 employees.
- Calculate and process federal, state, and local taxes.
- Maintain accurate employee records, including time-off accruals and compensation changes.
- Reconcile payroll reports and resolve any discrepancies.
- Assist with year-end payroll tasks, such as W-2 and 1099 preparation.
- Stay up-to-date on federal, state, and local payroll regulations.
- Maintain confidentiality of employee information.
- Perform general accounting tasks, such as accounts payable, accounts receivable, and bank reconciliations.
- Assist with financial reporting and analysis.
Qualifications:
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and practices.
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Excel).
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Knowledge of federal, state, and local tax laws.
