Job Description
OBJECTIVE:
Help produce financial information for managers and partners by maintaining and performing daily accounting tasks which include reconciling accounts, preparing reports, cash management, and general office duties.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS (other duties as assigned)
- Maintain financial records associated with Spronk Brothers operations.
- Analyze general ledger accounts to ensure all business transactions are recorded accurately and timely.
- Reconcile bank accounts on a monthly basis.
- Maintain general ledger accounts by reconciling accounts receivable; inventory; prepaid expenses; fixed assets and depreciation, other assets, accounts payable, and accrued expenses.
- Prepare balance sheets, income statements, and other financial statements required under standard operating procedures.
- Ensure cost tracking of projects at farms and capitalization/expensing.
- Year-end close (prepare info for tax preparers and answer questions)
- Assist with other accounting projects, as necessary
POSITION SPECIFICATIONS
Education:
BSC/BA in accounting, finance or related field
ACA/CMA preferred
Experience:
2+ years of accounting experience, preferable in the agriculture field
Basic understanding of tax basis accounting
Work Environment:
Office environment utilizing a variety of computer software

Compensation, Pay & Benefits:
Compensation rate of $55,000-$75,000 base salary, depending on experience
