This position can be Part Time with 20 - 30 hours per week or Full Time at 40 hours per week with the Department of Legislative Audit. For more information on the Department of Legislative Audit, please visit https://legislativeaudit.sd.gov .

Legislative Audit is looking for a motivated and skilled individual to provide administrative duties supporting the audits of various agencies and departments and data entry tasks involving the use of judgement and discretion.

With Legislative Audit, you would be a part of a group of professionals that are dependable, focused on details, motivated, and recognized for our integrity and high-quality work. The selected candidate works closely with the Senior Administrative Assistant and reports directly to the Finance Officer.

The ideal candidate will work well independently and in a team environment, be dependable, have good customer service skills, and prior clerical experience.

Education: Graduation from high school or possession of a GED certificate.

Experience: A minimum of two years of related work experience or any equivalent combination of education and experience.

Knowledge of the following would be beneficial:
  • Modern office practices and procedures;
  • Business English, grammar, and punctuation;
  • Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, Access, and other desktop tools.

Skills to create quality work by being conscientious and detail-oriented are required.

Essential abilities:
  • Type accurately, including using a 10-key;
  • Operate required office machines;
  • Work independently;
  • Make logical decisions and carry out detailed instructions;
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with other employees and the general public.
