HOURS: Full time position, 8 am to 5 pm. Occasional evenings/weekends hours, and on-call as needed.

SALARY: Dependent on experience and qualifications

RESPONSIBILITIES: Assess the needs of clients who are experiencing unintended pregnancies and assist them with appropriate services, support, decision making, and plans in accordance with LSS policy. Provide education and support regarding adoption and pregnancy related issues, prepare accurate and timely documentation and reports, coordinate appropriate resources, and provide follow up counseling and/or referrals as needed. Coordinate appropriate legal work and court appearances regarding birth parents. Work with the public on service awareness. Conduct adoptive family training, and write home studies and home study renewals as needed. Assist post-adoption clients and provide support and information as allowed per SD Codified Law. Assist Adoption Program Manager with maintaining client records and other administrative duties as needed.

QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor’s degree in social work or related field, plus one to two years related experience. Licensed Social Worker or Licensed Social Work Associate through the South Dakota Board of Social Work Examiners required (or the ability to become licensed). Must be at least 21 years of age. Must successfully complete all agency background checks. Requires valid driver’s license and ability to obtain approved driver status.
