Job Summary

• Learn to plan and care for a variety of plantings and turf at the Great Plains Zoo at Sherman Park areas.

• Lead ornamental planting management practices in assigned areas.

• Weekly water management, flower dead heading, weed management, disease/insect control, garden mowing schedule, etc.

• Diagnose irrigation issues and perform repairs.

• Attend and participate in project management, event coordination, and stake holder relationship functions.

Minimum Qualifications

• Students enrolled in a Horticulture, Turf Management, or Parks and Recreation curriculum, or related field, as a full-time student at a college, university, or vocational technical school.

• Ability to work as a team member and collaborate effectively with others.

• Strong verbal and written communication skills.

• Must be able to work a 40-hour flexible schedule that includes nights, weekends, and holidays.
