Job Summary

Collaborate with internal communications team to create and maintain engaging content for the City’s intranet, newsletters, and digital signage network. This role involves writing employee news stories, supporting employee events, and contributing to a positive and informed workplace culture. Gain valuable experience in public sector communications and contribute to projects with a citywide impact.

Job Responsibilities

  1. Collaborate with Internal Communications team to post announcements and make revisions to the City’s intranet and digital screen network. Work directly with employees across the city on assigned help tickets.
  2. Collaborate with Communications team to post updates and revisions to the Communications’ team site. Attend relevant meetings and contribute to overall team operations.
  3. Collaborate with assigned department leads to migrate and improve intranet content, ensuring content is accurate, up-to-date, and user-friendly.
  4. Write articles for the City’s intranet and employee newsletter on assigned topics. Capture photos to support employee news stories.
  5. Provide administrative support for employee events and recognition, such as assisting with logistics or coordinating event materials.
  6. Collaborate with Communications team to produce content for the City’s social media channels related to workplace culture and employee recognition.


Minimum Qualifications

Currently pursuing a degree in marketing, communications, public relations, or a related field; or any such combination of education, experience, and training as may be acceptable to the hiring authority.
