Reports to: Asphalt Plant Manager
Effective Date: 1/8/2025
Job Summary:
The Asphalt Plant Loader Operator position is responsible for assisting in the safe and efficient operation of the asphalt plant. The Loader Operator will maintain the aggregate stockpiles and feed the plant with the required aggregates and RAP to assist in producing in-spec hot mix asphalt.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
• Follows all company safety and environmental policies and OSHA, FRA, EPA, DOT, and SDDANR.
• Communicate effectively with all team members.
• Build and maintain positive working relationships with coworkers, supervisors, contractors, and customers.
• Monitor equipment operation to ensure a consistent flow of materials and produce high-quality, in-spec hot mix asphalt for internal and external customers.
• Ability and knowledge to safely and efficiently operate heavy equipment as designed (skidsteer, aerial lift, loader).
• Heavy equipment must be inspected daily before each use.
• Able to perform general labor duties (shovel, clean, grease, repair, load/unload AC)
• Be able to safely use or operate hand and power tools.
• Responsible for housekeeping, including the plant, equipment, and plant site.
• Perform preventative maintenance on all equipment.
• All other duties assigned.
Required Skills/Abilities:
• Excellent communication/interpersonal skills.
• Keen attention to detail.
• Knowledge of equipment operation.
• Good work attendance is a must.
• Ability to work safely in a team environment.
• A valid driver’s license is preferred but not required.
Education and Experience:
• High School diploma or GED.
• Relevant technical school education is preferred but not required.
Physical Requirements:
• Ability to stand, squat, bend, walk for long durations.
• Able to work outside in all types of weather conditions and tolerate loud noises.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times.
