Assembler / Installer
Job Title: Assembler / Installer
Department: Production
Reports To: Plant Manager
FLSA Status: Non-exempt
Prepared By: Human Resources
Hours: Full Time or Part Time
Summary
Perform a wide range of duties and tasks, including preparing and installing parts for fittings, operating hand and power tools to perform more difficult finishing work on products, and assisting with or set up and operate plant equipment.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Operate power tools to prepare product for accessories
- Cut, drill and grind parts to specifications
- From a variety of blueprints, measure and mark tanks
- Fabricate and assemble products
- Correct quality defects
- Mold or build complex components
- Mix chemicals to specifications
- Roll out and press layers of saturated mat reinforcement
- Set up, operate, and maintain equipment with minimal oversight
- Record production work records
- Check completed projects for conformance to specifications and for quality
- Oversee the projects of junior workers, checking for conformance to specifications and for quality
- Record and report defects
- Maintain clean products and work area
- Practice safe work habits and maintain safe work environment
- Transfer products, objects, or parts to specified work areas
- Share industry and company information in the development of new workers
- Pull parts and prep molds
- Assist others as needed
- Perform other duties as requested by supervisor
Qualifications:
- Willingness to learn and receive on the job training
- Work alone with minimal direction or as part of a team
- Basic math skills required
- Ability to interpret specification sheets required
- Ability to directly or indirectly communicate verbally required
- Must have the ability to speak, read and write the English language
Education and/or Experience:
- High School Diploma or Equivalent preferred
- Previous production experience preferred
Physical Demands:
- Lift up to 20 pounds overhead
- Occasionally lift up to 50 pounds
- Stand on concrete floor up to 10 hours per day
- Wear personal protective equipment
- Demonstrate adequate dexterity and stamina
- Subject to periodic drug screening
