Job Description

Jellystone Park of Sioux Falls is a family-owned and operated camping resort dedicated to providing exceptional guest experiences. We are seeking a highly motivated person to join our team in the role of Assistant General Manger and contribute to the continued success of our resort. The ideal candidate will be a hands-on leader requiring a dynamic individual with strong leadership skills, a passion for customer service, the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and a commitment to creating an enjoyable environment for our guests.

Job Summary:

The Assistant General Manager will play a vital role in the daily operations of the resort, working closely with the General Manager to ensure smooth and efficient operations. This position requires a well-rounded individual capable of managing various aspects of the business, from staff supervision and inventory control to social media management and recreation planning.

Responsibilities:

  • Staff Management:
  • Supervise, train, and motivate staff members across various departments (e.g., retail, food service, housekeeping, grounds).
  • Conduct performance reviews and address employee concerns.
  • Foster a positive and productive work environment.
  • Guest Services Management:
  • Manage retail inventory, including ordering, receiving, stocking, and tracking merchandise.
  • Manage food service inventory, ensuring adequate supplies for the restaurant/cafe, minimizing waste, and adhering to budget guidelines.
  • Be a back up to guest services employees to cover for breaks and/or absences.
  • Social Media Management:
  • Develop and implement social media strategies to promote the resort and engage with guests.
  • Create engaging content (photos, videos, posts) to showcase the resort’s amenities and activities
  • Monitor social media channels for guest feedback, reviews, and mentions.
  • Respond to inquiries and comments in a timely and professional manner.
  • Activity Planning & Scheduling:
  • Assist in planning and scheduling resort activities and events.
  • Coordinate with activity instructors, vendors, and other relevant parties.
  • Promote activities to guests through various channels (e.g., social media, website, flyers).
  • Ensure the smooth execution of activities and events.
  • Guest Relations:
  • Provide exceptional customer service to guests, addressing their needs and resolving any issues promptly.
  • Handle guest inquiries and complaints with professionalism and empathy.
  • Promote a positive and welcoming atmosphere throughout the resort.
  • Other Duties:
  • Assist the General Manager with various administrative tasks.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of resort policies and procedures.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and safety standards.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in a management role, preferably in the hospitality or recreation industry.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
  • Experience with social media marketing and content creation.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and in-season holidays.
  • Passion for providing exceptional customer service.
  • A positive attitude and a team-oriented approach.
