The Minnehaha Country Club in Sioux Falls, SD is celebrating our 118th year of operations, and we are currently seeking passionate and team-oriented restaurant professionals to join our team. Minnehaha Country Club operates a robust on-site catering and events operation, as well as two full-service, year-round restaurants. We have an immediate opening in our Banquet Team for the successful candidate. Minnehaha Country Club is Sioux Falls’ premier country club, operates year-round and serves membership of approximately 740 families. The Club features an immaculate championship 18-hole golf course and one of the finest restaurants in the region, as well as swimming, tennis, and fitness amenities.
Our banquet cook will report to the Banquet Chef and assist in the execution of banquet event meal service. Applicants must have open availability; a diverse background in culinary or experience in banquets/catering are preferred.
Compensation and Benefits
- Banquet Cooks may be full or part-time and have a starting wage of $17.00 - $20.00 based on skill and experience.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. - Prepares food items for banquet service as assigned using standard recipes in accordance with club standards; identifies and requisitions products needed for service.
- Operates food production equipment according to manufacturers’ instructions.
- Notifies Banquet Chef or kitchen management in advance of expected product shortages.
- Covers, dates, and neatly stores re-usable leftover products as assigned.
- Ensures that work area, equipment, and small wares are clean and sanitary.
- Consistently uses safe and sanitary food handling practices.
- Serves food on buffet stations as assigned.
- Assists in the set-up and plating for meal service.
- Assists in the cleaning and organization of walk-in coolers, freezers, and storage areas.
- Assists with preparation for other Club restaurant outlets as assigned.
- Attends kitchen staff meetings.
- Performs other appropriate tasks as assigned by the Banquet Chef or Executive Chef.
Knowledge, Experience and Abilities
- High School diploma or GED.
- Prior prep/cooking experience in a professional kitchen required; resort or private club experience is preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to produce and plate all assigned menu items.
- Demonstrated use of efficient time management and ability to complete individual tasks with limited supervision.
- Knowledge of and ability to perform required role during emergency situations.
Physical Demands and Work Environment
- Required to stand for long periods and walk, climb stairs, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, bend, stretch and twist or reach.
- Push, pull or lift to 50 pounds.
- Continuous repetitive motions.
- This is a typical professional kitchen work environment, which may be hot, humid, and noisy.
