BARBACK
PAY RATE: $8/HR + TIPS
Job Summary: A Barback is responsible for supporting bartenders during peak hours, ensuring the bar area is stocked, clean, and well-maintained. They help with restocking supplies, cleaning surfaces, and assisting in service to ensure smooth operations. The Barback plays a vital role in providing a positive guest experience by maintaining the bar's cleanliness and efficiency.
Job Duties: - Restock liquor bottles, change kegs, and ensure the bar has necessary supplies. - Learn and memorize cocktail recipes and other menu items. - Clean bar and table surfaces throughout the shift, including wiping down chairs and railings. - Remove and dispose of trash bags from receptacles in and around the bar area. - Remove used glassware and utensils from guests’ tables during their stay. - Sweep and mop bar service areas and guest common areas. - Answer guest questions and route complaints to the appropriate staff member. - Stock bar items such as glassware, straws, swords, bev naps, garnishes, ice, towels, and cleaning supplies. This includes restocking for bar opening or closing.
Accountabilities: - Ensure the bar area is fully stocked and clean throughout the shift. - Work efficiently to support bartenders during busy periods. - Maintain excellent customer service standards by assisting guests promptly. - Follow company policies, particularly those related to health, safety, and cleanliness. - Assist other staff members as needed, without hesitation.
Qualifications: - Education: High School diploma or equivalent preferred, but not essential. - Physical: Must be able to lift 20 pounds or more and stand/walk for extended periods. - Skills: Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment. Basic math and computer skills required. Must be able to coordinate well with others and communicate effectively.
Certification: Barbacks must complete their certification process by showing mastery of all standards of excellence in their area. This is determined by their ability to perform duties effectively and efficiently, as acknowledged by the Trainer.
