Suggest specific drinks, appetizers, specials, entrées, desserts, and after-dinner drinks to increase the average check value and ensure guest satisfaction.
Place all orders correctly, as ordered.
Enter food and beverage orders into the Point-of-Sale system accurately, before delivering to the guest.
Prepare all beverages at the bar according to specifications in a prompt manner for both guests and servers.
Coordinate the timing of all courses for the meal, ensuring appropriate time between courses.
Pay attention to finer points of the dining experience, such as water refills, extra napkins, and timely presentation of the check. Clear all unnecessary clutter from the bar, and monitor the television and sound systems to enhance the bar atmosphere.
Check back within two minutes of delivering any food.
Pre-bus regularly to ensure no more than two glasses or silverware are left on the bar after guests leave.
Convey a cheerful attitude throughout the shift.
Maintain the cleanliness of the bar at all times.
Complete all assigned side work and have it checked by a manager before leaving the shift.
Tend to the assigned bar station as directed by management.
Prepare drink orders according to specifications and guest orders at all times.
Deliver beverages within two minutes of guest orders.
Prepare drink orders for servers within one minute of ordering.
Check back within two minutes of guests receiving their food to ensure it is prepared as ordered.
Arrive for work in a clean, neat, well-pressed uniform five minutes before the scheduled shift time.
Serve alcohol responsibly and assist others by monitoring guest alcohol service.
Follow all company and unit rules both in public and private.
Provide the guest check within one minute of the completion of the meal and process payment promptly.
Complete all side work and have it checked out by a manager before leaving.
Help other staff as needed and ask for help when required.
Ensure proper carding of guests and prevent overconsumption of alcohol.
Qualifications:
Education: High School diploma is preferred but not essential.
Basic reading, writing, and arithmetic skills are required. Must be able to speak and understand fluent English.
Experience: No previous experience required, but it is strongly desired.
Physical Requirements: - Must be able to lift 50 pounds. - Must have the dexterity and stamina to work in a fast-paced environment, and be able to bend, step, reach, carry, lift, wipe, stand, and stoop throughout the shift.
Must communicate effectively with coworkers and guests.
Certification: Employees must complete the certification process by mastering all standards of excellence. This includes scoring a minimum of 90% on a written test covering the menu and the server position, as well as passing a physical test on the bartender's duties before being scheduled for a solo shift.
