This position will travel with the Mobile Unit across SD, IA and MN in addition to supporting our on campus donations area.

Job Summary
The Donor Technician specializes in collecting blood from donors in accordance with FDA guidelines, using both traditional as well as apheresis procedures, and assumes responsibility for the safety and comfort of the donor by following established standards and practices. In addition, you are responsible for component preparation, storage, and packaging following cGMP guidelines to ensure product quality, sterility and time requirements are met.GMP guidelines. Other duties include processing phone calls, donor cancelations, therapeutic procedures and other inquiries regarding blood donations.
- One of your key responsibilities will be processing the blood products into three different components.
- You will be handling blood donor registration, including interviewing and taking vitals for donor qualification.
- You will also be responsible for ensuring accurate documentation of our blood donors and blood product preparation.
Education / Experience / Certification:
- Associate Degree from a technical school or college, or one year of laboratory is highly desired.
- This position requires basic computer skills in Microsoft Office applications, specfically Outlook and Excel.
- One year certificate from college or technical school; or three to six months related phlebotomy experience plus hands-on training in apheresis blood collection is strongly preferred.
Work Schedule
- Typically 8 - 10 Hour Shifts; Start as early as 6 am and end as late as 10 pm
- Occasional weekend rotation; Saturday only
- Full Time ; 80hrs/2wks
