Job Description

SUMMARY: The Branch Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily operations and management of the store. This position will be tasked with driving sales, delivering exceptional customer service, and ensuring the store's profitability. The Branch Manager will lead a team of employees, manage inventory, implement marketing strategies, and maintain a positive shopping environment for customers.

 

Responsibilities/Essential Functions include:
1.  Store Operations Management

  • Oversee all aspects of the store's operations, including opening and closing procedures, cash handling, and security protocols.
  • Enforce operational policies and procedures to optimize efficiency and maintain a safe and clean environment.
  • Review and analyze sales reports, customer feedback, and other performance indicators to identify areas of success and improvement.
  1. Inventory and Visual Presentation
  • Manage inventory levels to meet customer demands while minimizing stock loss and waste.
  • Implement effective visual presentation techniques to create appealing product displays, drive sales, and enhance the overall store experience.
  • Coordinate with purchasing or marketing to ensure timely delivery of merchandise and maintain optimal stock levels.
  1. Marketing and Promotions
  • Collaborate with Marketing to develop and execute marketing campaigns, promotional activities, and special events to increase store traffic and sales.
  1. Sales and Customer Service
  • Collaborate with Marketing and Regional Manager in setting sales targets, developing strategies, and motivating the team to achieve and exceed sales goals.
  • Ensure exceptional customer service standards are maintained, promptly addressing customer complaints and concerns to ensure a positive experience.
  1. Team Leadership and Development
  • Recruit, hire, train, and supervise a team of staff members, ensuring they are knowledgeable, motivated, and equipped to meet performance goals.
  • Conduct regular performance evaluations, provide constructive feedback, and implement training and development programs to enhance employee skills and knowledge.
  • Foster a positive work culture that encourages teamwork, high morale, and a customer-centric mindset.

 

Other Functions:

  • Perform other duties, projects and tasks required/directed.

 

Qualifications & Requirements:

Education and Work Experience

  • High school diploma or equivalent qualification.
  • Bachelor’s or associate’s degree in business administration, retail management, or related field preferred.
  • Previous experience as a store manager or in a similar leadership role preferred.

Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities

  • In-depth knowledge of construction materials, tools, and equipment, including their applications and usage.
  • Strong knowledge of retail operations, merchandising, and sales strategies.
  • Ability to work in fast-paced, public environment.
  • Exceptional customer service orientation and problem-solving abilities.
  • Admirable leadership and interpersonal skills with the ability to motivate and inspire a team and diplomatically correct as needed.
  • Proficiency in using retail management software and point-of-sale (POS) systems.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to communicate well both verbally and in writing.
  • Capable of maintaining a high level of confidentiality and professionalism.
  • Flexibility in hours to service the needs of the company.

 

Physical Capabilities Required

  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at a time.
  • Ability to walk and stand for extended periods of time.
  • Physical stamina for loading/unloading products.
  • Flexibility and agility to bend, stoop, and reach.
  • Must have a sufficient visual acuity to determine accuracy, neatness, and thoroughness of work.
  • Understand the speech of another person. Speak clearly so listeners can understand.
  • Sufficient normal limits of hearing.
