Summary of Position
The Cafeteria Manager is responsible for the supervision of food service personnel, ordering required food items,
inventory, and assisting with the preparation and serving of daily meals. This is a non-exempt position.
Accountability
Reports to the Support Services Director.

Responsibilities
1. Manages and oversees all menu planning and the presentation of school lunches, salad bars, and special events.
2. Supervises Food Services Assistants, this includes usual and customary supervisory duties.
3. Manages the receiving, ordering, stocking, and rotation of cafeteria food products for the school lunch program,
fresh fruit and vegetable program, and food boxes.
4. Plans menus that are compatible with the budget and meet national guidelines.
5. Supervises and assists food service personnel with the preparation, set-up and serving of daily meals.
6. Supervises and assists with the cleaning of food prep/service areas and storing food in designated areas.
7. Ensures all safe handling and HACCP standards are followed.
8. Together with the Grocery Store Manager, plans and executes special events.
9. Notifies the Director of Support Services of maintenance and other issues affecting the execution of cafeteria
services provided.
10. Prepares and orders all cafeteria food orders, places orders with approved vendors.
11. Performs other responsibilities as required by the Director of Support Services.
Qualifications
? Education or Experience in Nutrition or other Food Service Related Programs preferred
? Computer skills
? Serv-Safe Qualified
Physical Demands
? Frequently lifts, carries or otherwise moves and positions objects weighing up to 30 lbs.
? Occasionally exerts up to 50 lbs. of force.
? Regularly bends, stoops, crouches, and climbs stairs.
? Ability to stand for prolonged periods.
? Uses the abdominal and lower back muscles to support part of the body repeatedly over time without becoming
fatigued.
? Uses both hands and wrists repetitively for prolonged periods.
Expectations of Hours Worked
At least 40 hours/week. Occasional hours outside of regular work-week as required by supervisor for special events.
