JOB SUMMARY

The City of Sioux Falls Water Purification team is seeking a community-oriented individual to join us as a water quality Chemist. With a population of over 210,000 citizens relying on clean and safe water service, we are committed to surpassing customer expectations at every turn, ensuring the highest quality of water from its source to the tap.
As a Chemist on the water quality team, you will play a crucial role in our community, engaging extensively with customers, maintaining sampling plans, and quality control programs for monitoring water quality throughout the treatment and distribution system. Your primary responsibility will involve ensuring proper operation and quality control of laboratory equipment and developing standard operating procedures for laboratory procedures, sample collection, and communicating results.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Graduation from an accredited college or university with a bachelor’s degree in chemistry, biology, or related science with at least five (5) years’ experience in water or wastewater laboratory work; or any such combination of education, experience, and training as may be acceptable to the hiring authority.
