Job Summary & Responsibilities
- Seeking a full-time Civil Engineering Project Engineer in Brookings, SD.
- Prepare designs, construction drawings, quantity take-offs, documents, reports, schedules, opinion of costs, and specifications for various projects.
- Ability to interpret federal, state, and local requirements and apply to specific project needs.
- Ability to consistently produce high quality construction documents.
- Lead other engineers and technicians in project development.
- Mentor EIT’s in the principles of design for the related engineering tasks.
- Ability to effectively communicate with clients, contractors, government agencies, local authorities, and others as required to achieve a cohesive project.
- Provide direction to survey crews and EIT’s on construction sites, perform routine construction observations to determine contractor conformance with the plans and specifications.
- Assist in growing the business relationships with existing clients and developing new clients.
Qualifications
- Requires 5+ years of experience in the design of municipal engineering, site design, hydraulic engineering, and/or bridge engineering projects (One or multiple areas of expertise preferred).
- Bachelor of Science Degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET accredited university.
- Licensure as a Professional Engineer (PE) required or ability to obtain within 6 months of hire.
- Computer experience using Microsoft Office products and AutoCAD Civil 3D.
- Self-motivated team member with a positive attitude and ability to multi-task and establish priorities.
- Ability to lead engineers and technicians in the development of successful projects.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Must have permanent authorization to work in the United States.
- Valid driver’s license & ability to travel to various job sites, as required.
- Employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
