Position Description:
We are looking for a full or part-time laboratory generalist to perform laboratory analysis in a physician's office lab. Must have good interpersonal skills to work in a teaching environment. Attention to detail and the ability to multitask are essential in this full spectrum physician’s office laboratory.
Each individual performing moderate complexity testing must:
- Follow the laboratory’s procedures for specimen handling and processing, test analysis reporting, and maintaining records of patient test results.
- Maintain records that demonstrates proficiency-testing samples are tested in the same manner as patient samples.
- Adhere to the laboratory’s quality control policies; document all QC activities, instrument and procedural calibrations, and maintenance performed.
- Follow the laboratory’s corrective action policies and procedures whenever test systems are not within the laboratory’s established acceptable levels of performance.
- Be capable of identifying problems that may adversely affect test performance or reporting of test results and either must correct the problems or immediately notify the directory.
- Document all corrective actions taken when test systems deviate from the laboratory’s established performance specifications.
- Education of resident longitudinally and during the Lab Medicine rotation.
- Each individual performing moderate complexity testing that does not have an associate degree or equivalent must perform moderate complexity testing only under the direct supervision of a general supervisor. Testing can be performed outside normal operating hours without direct on-site supervision, however, the director must be accessible for consultation by telephone or electronic means, and one of these individuals must review and co-sign all test results during the next regular shift.
- Each individual performing moderate complexity testing that does not have associate degree or equivalent must go through a training session on the job that will verify the employee’s ability to do A. through F. above.
Pay:
Starting at $22.25/hr (depending on experience)

Skills/Qualifications:
- Minimum Associates degree in Laboratory Science
- Certification as Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) from the ASCP.
