Position Overview: We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Controller to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting and finance, with experience in the construction industry or a similar field. As the Controller, you will play a crucial role in supporting our Leadership with financial management and reporting, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards.
Key Responsibilities:
· Financial Reporting: Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements. Ensure timely and accurate financial reporting in compliance with company policies and accounting principles.
· Accounting Operations: Oversee daily accounting activities, including accounts payable and receivable, payroll, and general ledger maintenance. Reconcile bank statements and resolve discrepancies.
· Internal Controls: Assist in the implementation and maintenance of internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure accurate financial reporting.
· Audit Support: Prepare schedules and documentation for internal and external audits. Address auditor queries and implement recommendations as needed.
· Financial Analysis: Conduct financial analysis to support decision-making processes. Provide insights and recommendations based on financial data.
· Compliance: Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, as well as company policies and procedures.
· Team Collaboration: Work closely with other departments to provide financial insights and support. Collaborate with the Leadership to streamline accounting processes and improve efficiency[SS1] .
Qualifications:
· Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. CPA or CMA certification is a plus.
· Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of accounting experience, preferably in a construction setting.
· Skills: Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting, and internal controls. Proficient in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
· Attention to Detail: Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in financial reporting and analysis.
· Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to present financial information clearly and concisely.
· Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
