Summary:
This position directs and supervises all HSC custodial services personnel, along with coordinating and scheduling work assignments. Some responsibilities include assigning designated work areas, managing a weekend and holiday rotation, ordering and maintaining supplies and equipment, and inspecting both in progress and completed work to ensure state facilities are properly cared for and sanitized.
Assigned tasks may be physically strenuous and completion of tasks may require work outside of the regular work day. It is expected that a successful candidate will supervise and participate in general custodial duties, carpet cleaning, stripping/waxing floors, and other sanitation tasks. The HSC Custodial Services Team is committed to providing the highest standard of customer service for its residents, fellow staff members, and visitors.
Working hours for this position are primarily Monday through Friday 6:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. but may vary according to needs of the facility.
Licenses and Certifications: Successful candidate must possess a valid driver license.
The Ideal Candidate Will Have: Successful candidate should possess the skills necessary to lead a team of people, as well as work independently to ensure successful completion of assigned tasks and projects. The ideal candidate will have experience in supervising personnel, ordering of materials, and maintaining equipment. This position will also have the responsibility to learn custodial issues that require collaboration and coordination between all custodians and operations staff. Candidates must be able to operate a computer and all necessary software. This individual should have the ability to operate/learn multiple software programs, manage a staff schedule, and order equipment and materials as necessary. It is a basic job expectation that all staff take the initiative to appropriately coordinate, document, and communicate in a professional manner.
