Job Description

Heiman Fire Equipment is seeking a motivated Customer Service representative. The Customer Service, Sales, and Website Support representative is responsible for providing effective customer service for all internal and external customers and Heiman sales team members by phone, email, and live chat.

Key Responsibilities:

Customer Service/Sales Support

  • Assist with customer service including answering incoming calls, taking orders, creating and/or entering quotes, entering/submitting purchase orders, and contacting vendors to satisfy the customer’s needs.

  • Professionally handle customer issues/requests with the best interest of both the customer and the company

  • Maintain an updated knowledge of the organization’s products, services, and customer service policies

  • Use Sage 100 to look up product part numbers/pricing, inventory, customer accounts/invoices, reports and more

  • Assist outside Heiman sales team members

  • Work with all departments to make sure we are adhering to the highest customer service standards in our industry

Website Support

  • Process website orders, create purchase orders, create part numbers, ensure website pricing is accurate
  • Help answer website live chats and assist customer with their questions
  • Review purchase orders for accuracy and enter tracking information for website orders
  • Provide order replacement suggestions or upsell opportunities when necessary
  • Other duties assigned

Qualifications:

  • High school Diploma or equivalent required. Associates or Bachelor’s degree in related field preferred
  • 3-5 years’ proven customer service leadership experience preferred
  • Self-starter with good time management and organizational skills
  • Excellent communication skills, including verbal, written and listening skills
  • A team-player, working together with internal and external customers, providing insight when needed and able to be flexible when goals or outcomes differ
  • Detail oriented, professional attitude, reliable
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office applications and basic office equipment. Strong skills in Excel preferred
  • Experience with SalesForce a plus.
