Job Description
Deputy Sheriff for the County of Brule.
Enforce traffic laws, investigate accidents, serve papers, complete reports accurately and file efficiently.
Maintain and safely and appropriately use weapons, vehicles and equipment.
Provide testimony in Court when necessary and provide security for the Courtroom.
Must be 21 years of age and at least high school education or GED.
Basic knowledge of the principles, policies, procedures, codes, laws and statutes of law enforcement operations.
Able to respond to emergency situations and work with multiple agencies.
Must be able to meet the standards for certification as a law enforcement officer in SD as required by the Law Enforcement Officers Standard & Training Commission.
