Job Description

Nielson Construction is looking for an ambitious individual to join our company as a Development Site Foreman! The Development Site Foreman ensures our new residential and commercial developments are prepared for new construction. Experience in civil engineering and land surveying is a plus!

This position has a split of 80% in the field and 20% in the office.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Leads field team members and sub-contractors to achieve completion of multiple projects on schedule, within budget, with quality workmanship that conforms to all original plans and specifications.
  • Coordinate inspections, onsite installation of gas and electric utilities, and track damages in developments.
  • Maintain all developments through groundskeeping, erosion control, mowing, snow removal, and update all marketing materials and signage as appropriate.
  • Track and maintain the locations of all manholes, water valves, sewer risers, and other utilities so they are always visually accessible.
  • Research and implement GPS mapping or tracking in all developments.
  • Provides project status reports to supervisors, site engineers, and division leads.
  • Pays strict attention to details and sees all projects through to completion while continuously searching for ways to solve problems, improve processes, and provide exceptional service to all customers.
  • Maintains work sites, tools, and equipment with strict compliance to safety and company policies.
  • Prepare, approve, and submit accurate timesheets and other required paperwork.
  • Any other duties as assigned.

Skills and Qualifications: 

  • Ability to read and understand construction plans is required.
  • Experience in construction is required, with a preference given to leadership experience or land development experience.
  • Degree in construction management or a related field is preferred.
  • Experience with equipment operation is required.
  • Valid Driver License is required, Class A CDL is preferred but not required. We will help you get your CDL!
