Job Description

SUMMARY: The Director of Training and Customer Service is tasked with coordinating training and education content for all employees of Scooter’s Coffee to ensure that the mission, principles, and Scooter's touchstones are carried out, embraced, and modeled. This position supports the district and store managers in all aspects of training. They will help store managers with voids in training within each store in order to create knowledgable teams working toward the best possible experience for the customer.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Become trained as a barista and be up to date with barista skills

  • In Store Training
    • Promotional rollout - train and quiz within stores for competency on monthly promotions (featured drinks, signage correct in menu, new procedures, etc….)
    • Stay updated on Scooterversity information while helping managers track employee completion
    • Offer additional training for baristas when requested by a district or store manager
    • Monthly check-ins to answer any questions and to be a presence with the different teams within the franchise
      • Observe stations, look for opportunities to increase efficiency
      • Quiz baristas on recipe/process knowledge
  • Shift Lead Certification
    • Develop and keep updated curriculum for Head Barista Certification
    • Offer in-store assessment to certify a barista as a Head Barista
    • Manage a list of current Shift Leads
  • Train the Trainer
    • Monthly check-ins with stores to keep updated list of who is responsible for training within each store
    • Follow up with each trainer assist in making sure training protocols are being followed and mastered
  • Create training videos to summarize new products and processes as needed
  • Secret Shop locations
  • Perform other functions as directed
