Location/Schedule:
Monday through Friday, 11:30a-6:00p

Responsibilities:
- Promote the mission of Bishop O†Gorman Catholic School, ensuring a positive and supportive safe environment for all students
- Ensure safety and well-being of children in the before and after school care program, maintaining a secure environment at all times
- Maintain accurate daily attendance records for students and provide necessary documents to central office when required
- Organize and implement engaging daily activities for children 3-12, aligned with age-appropriate developmental goals
- Communicate regularly with parents regarding events, snacks, and schedules, including distributing a monthly calendar of activities
- Collaborate with the Principal, HR Director, and other coordinators to review procedures, lesson plans, inventory, and ensure adherence to policies, training, and child development practices
- Work with individual students and small groups on academic skills, study habits, and enrichment
- Track student progress, administer make-up tests, develop curriculum, and design technology-integrated lessons to enhance learning
- Assist with student supervision (lunch, recess, walking schedules), attend academic meetings, participate in school events like parent conferences, and perform additional duties as needed
Qualifications:
- Coordinator must meet one of the following requirements per SD DSS licensing rules:
- 1.Have a bachelor’s degree in a field of education or human development
- 2. Have a two-year degree in early childhood education
- 3. Have a Child Development Associate (CDA) credential or comparable credential, as determined by the department
- 4. Hold certification in a specific child learning philosophy and have at least one year of experience in a child care setting
- 5. Have a child development technician diploma
- 6. Have four years of experience in a center or school age program

- Experience: Previous child care experience preferred
- Special Skills: Strong interpersonal skills are beneficial. Must be adept at caring for children typically aged 3 to 12 years.

- Adapts well to a variety of tasks
- May be exposed to infectious disease, blood and body fluids and occasionally to odors and dusts
