The Secretary of State's office is currently looking for an Election Assistant which is a member of the Election Team. The team manages all aspects of South Dakota elections. The primary responsibilities of the Election Assistant include being the main point of contact for the election calls, assisting the Election Team in all areas, and being the Campaign Finance first point of contact.

Duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Planning the SOS County Auditor workshops & webinar trainings.
  • Responsible for publication updates.
  • Assist with special projects or assignments as needed.
  • Record minutes for meetings as needed.
  • Responsible for records management.
  • Assist with public records requests.
  • Process voter file purchases and payments.

Knowledge of:
  • Microsoft Office products: Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Teams, and other desktop tools.


This position is exempt from the Civil Service Act.
