Engineering Manager

The Engineering Manager position is responsible for product improvements, cost reduction activities, and the oversight of engineering processes and standards. This role will include the supervision of exempt and non-exempt staff.

Key Responsibilities

• Leadership

  • Ensure safety is at the forefront of all activities performed. Identify and correct unsafe acts or conditions specifically with respect to primary duties and throughout the facility.

  • Continuously top grade the team by recruiting, training, and coaching. Maximize the potential of employees through a servant leadership style.

  • Establish clear performance expectations, KPI’s and hold team accountable for results.

  • Develop, submit, and manage annual budgets for capital and expenses.

  • Supervision of design staff including recruiting, orienting, training, and development.

  • Train and mentor team in design methodologies, equipment, and software.

  • Manage engineering intern program. Identify meaningful work for interns while they are at Diamond.

• Production & Field Support

  • Provide manufacturing with the necessary support to address day-to-day production needs and initiatives.

  • Provide level three support to aid in root cause failure analysis and the issue resolution process.

  • Work to continuously improve our existing products through cost reductions, quality improvements, design for manufacture, and improved customer experience.

• Excellence in Engineering Standards & Processes

  • Continue to develop and improve the engineering standards to drive efficiencies, build knowledge, and improve the quality of the product.

  • Manage the engineering responsibilities and work quality within the ERP system.

  • Manage and streamline the engineering change process.

  • Continuously improve the quality of engineering documentation to our customers, both internal and external.

• Drafting & Technical Publications

  • Produce high-quality technical documents to support the needs of internal and external customers.

  • Streamline the process of developing documentation.

  • Ensure accuracy of these documents.
