Job Description
FUNCTION/POSITION DESCRIPTION: Under moderate supervision completes assembly and subassembly of various components, products, and wholegoods. Performs mechanical assembly using hand tools, air tools, and some shop equipment. Some mower mounting tasks. Performs quality assurance inspections on completed product prior to shipment.
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES:
Performs mechanical assembly on wholegood components and sub-assemblies using blueprints, schematics, and operator’s manuals.
Completes final assembly tasks including installation of safety components such shields or guards.
Installs decals on completed assemblies.
Disassembles pumps, motors, and other assemblies for rework or salvage.
Performs quality control inspections.
Required to accurately record work order information and inventory transactions.
Provides necessary tools for the job.
May assist other departments as needed.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Experience in mechanical assembly preferred.
Ability to interpret assembly instructions, parts manuals and blueprints.
Ability to read measuring devices; ability to use standard and powered hand tools.
Manual dexterity; mechanically inclined with good eye/hand coordination.
Ability to operate a forklift and overhead crane.
General familiarity of machine shop equipment for operation purposes.
Ability to lift, push or pull 50 pounds alone.
Able to stand on concrete floor for up to 8 hours per day.
Able to work overtime including weekends as needed to meet production schedules and deadlines.
