About Mickelson & Company:
Founded in 2005, Mickelson & Company is a tax-motivated capital advisory firm located in Sioux Falls, SD. We specialize in the monetization of federal and state tax credits for the railroad and renewable energy industries.
Compensation: Dependent upon experience, good base salary with bonus potential

Core Responsibilities:
- Proven proficiency at financial modeling
- Understand, organize and evaluate multi-year company financial statements including balance sheet, income statement and statement of cash flows
- Conduct research on prospective clients, counterparties, etc. in relation to the railroad and renewable energy industries and effectively organize and summarize
- Read and understand tax credit legislation and regulations
- Coordinate and support growth of new and current state and industrial development tax credits and other lines of business (grants and renewables)
- Communicate with clients, legislators, and lobbyists (as applicable) with confidence and good judgement in an effective and efficient manner that is consistent with our firm culture
- Display the ability to secure business without direct supervision and to perform the work necessary to effectuate the service to be provided
- Identify and solicit federal and state counterparties building buyer base and organize and summarize
- Foresee work activity and initiate action to keep the activity flow on task and schedule
- For business development roles, be effective at cold-calling and initiating introductions to new relationships
- Grow existing relationships
Job Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics/Business, or Mathematics
- Two years relevant accounting experience
- Knowledge of the principles, processes, and standards for financial analysis, forecasting and reporting
- Experience with contract administration a plus
