The Financial Operations Analyst provides financial support of card programs by managing the daily funds movement processes which include the creation of accounting entries to move funds as needed between the appropriate Demand Deposit Accounts and General Ledger accounts, the initiation of ACHs and wire transfers to external third parties and the initiation of daily settlement wire transfers to network associations and processors. The position does include interaction with other areas of the bank and clients to troubleshoot and resolve issues ensuring satisfied customers and successful card programs.
ResponsibilitiesEssential Functions - Performs daily funds movement to support the flow of funds for card programs.
- Initiates wire transfers to Visa, MasterCard and Discover to pay daily settlement for card programs.
- Completes daily and monthly settlement balancing/reconciliation and some Demand Deposit Account reconciliations in accordance with established timelines. Identifies and investigates variances and escalates issues to management as needed.
- Participates in testing new reports and processes for internal and client usage.
- Documents and updates internal procedures to maintain accuracy and accessibility.
- Assists with the escheatment process to the states in accordance with the unclaimed property laws for each state.
- Interacts with clients and assists them with questions regarding their accounts and/or online banking.
- Performs other related duties and troubleshooting as assigned.
QualificationsEducation/Experience Requirements- An associate degree in accounting or a related field or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
- A minimum of 2 years of accounting experience.
Preferred Requirements- Ability to work with numbers and handle data accurately.
- A basic knowledge of fed wire and ACH processes helpful.
- Working knowledge of credit card programs preferred.
- Previous experience with customer or client relations preferred, but not required.
- Outstanding problem solving and issue resolution skills.
- Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
- A team player with the capacity to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, team fostered environment with tight deadlines.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office suite, e.g., Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook.
