Total Fire Protection is seeking a Fire Sprinkler Fitter Apprentice. A Fire Sprinkler Fitter Apprentice is responsible to help install automatic fire sprinkler systems in new and existing buildings in all types of construction, mostly commercial, using valves, hangers, steel and plastic. They also assist the sprinkler fitter in laying out, assembling, installing, and maintaining fire protection systems. Apprentices will be required to enter into our companies Federal Apprenticeship Program after their 90-day probationary period.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Apprentices will complete on the job training by working with a Journeyman sprinkler fitter installing fire protection sprinkler systems.
- Successfully completing the necessary courses & hours to obtain Journeyman status.
- Read and understand drawings and blueprints.
- Use hand and power tools.
- Measure, Thread, and Cut Pipes According to Requirements.
- Assemble and Lubricate Pipes.
- Extensive knowledge of various types of Sprinkler Systems.
- Maintain knowledge of current industry standards and new technologies.
- Maintain compliance with all company and state/federal safety standards, regulations, and procedures.
Job Requirements:
- Must be able to travel.
- 18 years of age or older.
- Valid driver’s licenses/Access to reliable transportation.
- High School Diploma or Equivalent.
- Able to stand for an extended amount of time.
- Able to lift heavy things (up to 80lb)
- Able to work at high heights (up to 60+ ft)
