Fire Sprinkler Foreman Summary:
A Fire Sprinkler Foreman is responsible for leading projects to install new and modify existing commercial fire sprinkler systems. A foreman is also responsible for training apprentices. Foreman are examples to other employees of how to operate safely, perform high quality work, and provide excellent service for our customers.
Job Duties:
- Picks and sorts pipe, fittings, and hardware associated with fire sprinkler systems
- Prepares sprinkler pipe; carries pipe, fittings, and hardware to jobsite
- Loads and/or unloads trucks
- Measures, cuts, and grooves or threads sprinkler pipe
- Cuts and drills penetrations through walls and floors for pipe
- Climbs ladders as needed for sprinkler pipe installation
- Coordinates with other trades
- Able to read blueprints
- Supervises and motivates journeymen, apprentices, and other laborers as necessary
- Able to complete projects from start to finish
- Maintains a clean jobsite
- Assists with inventory tracking
- Ensures that all work is complete with quality workmanship
- Maintains vehicle, uniform, and tools
- Anticipates problems before they occur and finds solutions to those problems
- Communicates with office staff
Required Skills:
- 4 Years experience as a Fire Sprinkler Fitter
- Journeyman Sprinkler Fitter certification
- Travel, up to 100%
- Willing to work overnights
- Excellent project management skills
- Extensive knowledge of fire pumps, standpipe, wet, dry, and pre-action fire suppression systems
- Valid Driver's License with clean driving record
- Punctual
- Reliable
- Organized
- Self-motivated with little need for direction
- Willing to continue education
- Able to work as part of a team
- Able to lift 50lbs or more
- Able to pass pre-employement drug test and background check
Preferred Skills:
- OSHA 10-Hour Certified
- NICET I in Service and Repair
- 6+ years experience as Fire Sprinkler Fitter
- State Fire Sprinkler Fitter Licenses (IA, MN)
